Strengthening the Alliance: ACAHP Strategic Planning Session
CSA Agri-agence, together with the Alliance of Cooperatives Against Hunger and Poverty (ACAHP), recently convened a strategic planning session aimed at advancing cooperative engagement in Public Food Procurement — specifically within the framework of Negotiated Procurement Community Participation.
The session brought together a broad coalition of stakeholders, including major federations such as MASS SPECC, NATCCO, AGRICOOPH, and MCN, alongside NGO partners PhilDHRAA and PAKISAMA, and 10 primary cooperatives from across the country.
At the heart of the discussions was a shared commitment: charting a clear path forward for the alliance — one that is more inclusive and firmly centered on the welfare of farmers. Participants collectively mapped out strategies to ensure that cooperatives play a stronger, more meaningful role in government food procurement programs, so that the benefits reach the farmers who need them most.
This collaborative effort reflects ACAHP’s ongoing mission to empower grassroots cooperatives and transform policy participation into real, tangible gains for farming communities nationwide.
