Linking Farmers and Community Producers Directly to Government Programs

The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) successfully convened a Regional Suppliers’ Forum in Butuan City, marking a significant step in securing the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) for SY 2026-2027.

In collaboration with DepEd, DSWD, the Department of Agriculture, ACAHP, CSA, and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the forum focused on bridging the gap between local food production and government needs. Key discussions centered on enhancing local supplier capacity, streamlining procurement modalities, and optimizing meal delivery strategies to reach 4.6 million learners. By facilitating these direct links, the initiative promotes sustainable food procurement and strengthens the partnership between stakeholders, ultimately ensuring better nutrition for students and guaranteed livelihoods for local farmers.
