DSWD and ACAHP Formalize Partnership for a Hunger-Free Philippines

 
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing with the Alliance of Cooperatives Against Hunger and Poverty (ACAHP) on 10 October 2025, at the STB Conference Room, DSWD Central Office, Batasan Hills, Quezon City. The MOU established a framework for mutual cooperation and coordination between DSWD and ACAHP in promoting Negotiated Procurement through Community Participation (NP-CP), a mechanism designed to enhance and expand economic opportunities for community-based organizations (CBOs) nationwide.

More than a ceremonial signing, this partnership reaffirmed the shared commitment of DSWD and ACAHP to work hand in hand toward a Hunger-Free Philippines. The event featured the Objectives of the MOU and an Overview of the Partnership presented by Dr. Johnell DC Acosta, Project Development Officer V and Operations Division Chief of the EPAHP-NPMO.

Also in attendance was Honorable Congressman Felimon Espares of Coop-Natcco Partylist, who expressed his strong support for the partnership’s vision of empowering cooperatives and ensuring that no Filipino goes hungry.
